My truck has 60,000 and the brakes have developed a slight squeal. I'm a DIY type but have never replaced brakes on a new vehicle. Did my high school car back in the late 90's, it was an 80's GM so it wasn't too technical. Since then I haven't held on to a vehicle long enough for the brakes to be an issue.

Rotors seem fine, no vibration. Just pads? Fronts only or time for all 4? Sounds easy enough, any tips?

Truck is a 2014 tradesman, 4x4.

I'd like to say that the brakes seem great with no stopping issue, just a damn squeal. Tips on getting rid of that?

If you did a car with drums in the 90's, you'll find that disc brakes are about the only part on cars that has gotten easier to DIY over time.

Mke sure when you collapse the piston you don't pinch the boot, be generous with anti-squeal, and torque to specs once it's all put back together. Expect to spend about 1.5 hours for all 4 setups from start to finish (including jack/tire time).

The only pain in the ass is when you need that stupid special puller tool for the rear brakes due to the, I think, the parking brake. My wife's 2008 Town & Country and 2010 Dodge Journey both needed that tool. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm pretty sure our Rams don't need it though. Changing rotors can be fun when they're stuck on.

Like Pickles said, changing pads and rotors is done pretty much exactly the same way as the last 30 yrs (minus that stupid puller tool thingy).

Brakes are brakes. I would imagine your 80's GM had front disc brakes. If you could do them, you can do these.

Should be disc brakes all around. Took me more time to pull the tire it seemed than to change the pads. The dealer will charge a fortune as well. I would do them yourself...

I am sure there is a YouTube Video covering how it's done. At least there seems to be a video for every conceivable topic

Trust me.... I'm a beginner and I'm able to replace the brakes. I never did them until I did my 06 charger...I was worried I would mess them up.

If you can change a tire, your half way there...just need to get the caliper bolts out and slide those pads out, and put the new ones in.

If there is anything I can do, it's that...lol.

P.s. I wish I had time to figure out how to install my Bilsteins, but in the end I got someone to do it, and it sucked paying for it.
