Woke her up and she got a voice change.

Tried both FM 50 Series and Super 40s. Both sounded better than stock on configuration below.
Preferred Super 40s, as they had little deeper more aggressive growl.

Dual Catback 3” to 2.5” x pipe into super 40s with resonator delete and dropped behind rear axle.

Sounds great and NCS in 19s eliminates any drone if there was any in the first place.
Drive-ability is better with being able to hear shifting.

Hemi tick? Was not eliminated with removal of y pipe.
Theory at moment is gasket on manifold does not seat until engine gets hot. It improves but doesn't really go away. This echoes off that giant heat shield, amplifying that tock like crazy.

If you’re confident it’s a hemi tick then you gonna want to move to red line oil @Pull Ya can tell you all about the pros of Redline oil and a RP filter. Or @Burla
It is possible that the “tick” is the injectors you are hearing

Not confident 1500 miles into it, but will certainly entertain something as simple as changing oil.

I switched to amsoil the first time in my life after running it in the wife's ford 6.7 and I swear the stuff is well worth it. I put it in my power wagon and noticed it being alot quieter. Before I was using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w40. Not trying to sell you on any brand just what I have personally noticed with mine.

If its actually Hemi tick then exhaust mods aren't going to have an effect on it. If you can how about a cold start video that lasts for a couple minutes........that would make it much easier to diagnose your problem.
Yeah hemis are notorious for that. Mine always did that especially cold even my hellcat on start up. Hemi ticks come from under that valve cover by the valves I am sure you are aware. Anyway I quoted you but it's for everyone what I am saying. Amsoil seemed to make mine have zero noise on startup for whatever reason. Not sure if it's how well there oil lubricats in extreme cold which there flow test show. Anyways not that it makes any difference but my exhaust set up is cats only no muffler or resonator and its loud.

Huge fan of Amsoil. Planned on switching to it anyway. Wont run it as 10k though.
I will try and take a video clip of it, just have to figure out how to upload it .... :893karatesmiley-thu

Same here. Its the only thing I have ever put in my pw. I need to get my diffs done with severe gear here sooner than later.

Yeah I am going to do the same. Clean up the magnets for the lockers and put the good stuff in. I am curious to see what mine look like in there with build up and all. My rear locker engages quick but my front is a little slow but that's common. I noticed after running 4wd for awhile on a trail then trying to lock it up it was almost instant in the front.

Yeah I only plan on running mine till it says reset in the truck. Before with pennzoil ultra I waited till 25 percent oil life left which I think was like 5 or 6 thousand. Dont know why I did that I just did lol.

Is it just select engines that tick? Cannot say mine does but has a higher pitch exhaust tone that you can hear best through the front wheel well. Has always done that. If you pop the hood and listen from the top you can still tell the noise is exhaust. I use Mobile 1 with NAPA Gold filter as it’s what I can get without getting on the internet to order oil.

It is 5w30 for the 5.7 or 5w40 for the 6.4, these two formulas have the best record. Maybe 1/2 of the known field has recorded their results here, it is 90% chance it will make it better, 60% or so chance it will kill tick completely.
Thank you sir.
There is a bunch of us PW owners that never make it off the PW forum and we ask basic questions that apply to all 2500 or Ram for that matter. Including myself. Thanks again Burla the “god of lubricant”
