Hello,
Just bought my first truck. 14 RAM Sport 6.4 bed. I am more than sure this question has been asked before but its nearly impossible to find so please forgive me. Want to level the truck. What are the best parts and set up that is going to maintain the factory ride quality the best and not reduce the longevity of the truck suspension.

Thanks in advance!

is it 2wd or 4wd?

If it is 4wd then the bilstein 5100 shocks are the most popular and recommended set up. They are adjustable shocks so they can raise the front of your truck up to 2.8 inches...

if it is 2wd then your best bet I believe is a strut spacer which is fairly cheap.

What he said.

If going with Bilsteins, @ 2.1 setting, should have no issues.
If going to 2.8, I would recommend Mevotech Upper Control Arms.
Cheap Insurance (Under a $100 US)

I bought a pair of Mevotech UCA's and I ended up using the 2.1 setting.

Issues , with Bilsteins are very, very rare.
However, Rare does not mean Unknown.
And, my Luck is nothing, if not Consistent, hence the Mevotechs.

You'll only need the Bilsteins for the front to level it out. No need to touch the rear at all.

Take a look at the Guide to Leveling linked in my signature for all the information you'll need regarding this.

Yes with a Bilstein level you will only need to change the front shocks out and you're good to go!

You're gonna want to look into UCA's too to prevent ball joint issues.

Same truck! 6.4" bed and everything

My set up is

3.5 level

And 35 12.50 20 on stocks as you can see with a 1/4 spacer but I still have a real slight rub almost nothing! The 4" zone lift should happen next week hopefully I should get rid of that rub with that. I just put the tires and I already lost 2.5 mpg and that's because I have a hard cover on the bed and a k&n with some 50 series flows masters!

thats not true for the bilstein 5100 setup

the reason being that the actual cause of ball joint issues on the truck is a-arm overextension (further than what it can go in stock form)

when you add a spacer to your stock shocks you have effectively extended the total extended legth of the shock when its fully extended. so when the wheels move up and down, its moving so far that the a-arm/ball joint become binded up and the joint gets dislodged from the a-arms.

with the bilstein 5100 setup the shocks dont allow any range of movement of the a-arm than what can occur in stock form

i know several personally (including my own truck) that the only modification to the front end is bilsteins and we have no ball joint issues to speak of. mine is set at 2.1 and the other 2 are set at 2.8 lift. then there are countless people ive seen on forums that dont have a-arm/ball joint issues with the bilsteins

add the bilstein 5100s and get an alignment and youll be good. the last good thing about them is the fact you can adjust between .7, 1.4, 2.1 & 2.8 inches of lift.

You really need to get rid of that hood.
It looks horrible , on that truck.

tell a what, I will drive over and we can exchange hoods.
My Truck already looks bad, so it won't matter.
