New headlights

I got a new set of headlights for Christmas and have a question...

The new headlight plug has an extra piece on the side and it won't fit in the truck plug.

I could remove the material and install but then the warranty is voided...

Do I return the lights or modify the plug? Below is a pic of the headlight plug and the truck plug.

Modified the plug and installed the lights today.

Do the bulb bases physically fit?

Are they the same type of bulb?

Common sense isn't...nor is common decency.

Trim it with a Dremel or box knife. I had to do that with my last set. Smooth it out with sand paper and if u ever have to out a claim in they will not notice it.

I assume the bulb fits, they came installed in the headlight.

It is a different bulb though. This is a projector style for the quad headlight. Supposed to fit 2009-2018.

That was my plan, just afraid I'd install them and they wouldn't work...

The only difference is that tab. Not sure why they changed the connection but it works fine and will still snap into place.
