Hello all, surprisingly I've never posted here. I'm active on many forums so hopefully I can become a contributing member here. But on to my questions.
My truck is a 2005 quad cab 4.7 2wd. 270 on the clock.
Now my problem is the transmission. It will lock into 3rd gear in safe mode. Now in no way does it do it consistently and has done it for the last year or so. Every time I restart it it goes back to normal. Now for the last 2 days it does it every time I drive. Also it seems to be hunting for the correct gear for a bit before it goes into safe mode. It will randomly down shift and up shift when cruising around 30 to 40 miles per hour.
The fluid is good and clear. Doesn't smell burnt and is its correct color. I pulled the codes and it came back as lost power, low line pressure, general fault, solenoid fault.
Now my question is does this sound like an electrical problem or actually the transmission or component failing?
Looking for a route to take or where to start. My next post will be about the engine lol. It's down on power and has a tick. Sure the heads need to be redone. Thanks for any help you can give. Anyone local that works on them? Always prefer to give work to a forum member or I have another ram I'd give you to get this running well lol I'm west a little ways of STL MO
