So I'm soon in the market for my first ever truck. College student, tired of fooling around with sports cars (I've had 2) and luxury sedans (Had 2 of those as well), and by no means am I well off. I just try to keep my head above water. Anyway, back on topic. The truck I'm eyeing is a black, excellent condition, 2008 Dodge ram 3.7L V6. I won't be hauling much if anything at all, it's more of a DD. It's a regular cab, and for obvious reasons lol. I lucked out on a Fire red 04 Ram SLT Quad 4.7L v8. The dealership has ST as the trim, however I've done my research, and it's certainly not that. It doesn't have manual windows. It has power everything. It's not an SLT, either. I say that, because it doesn't have the sport grille. Could it be the SXT? I'll link you guys. Anyway, what can I expect for gas mileage? I live in OKLAHOMA, and my commute is 2 mins to my school, and if I want to go further out into the city it'll be a 15-20 min drive city, or a 25 min cruise on the highway if I just want a longer trip. Would a CAI improve MPG any? I can't afford a superchip, heck I don't know too much about those, other than what you guys have been discussing. Also, I'm not wanting to modify the exhaust any because I'll be financing.

More details about the truck (Let me know if it's a steal of a deal)
2008 Dodge ram 3.7l V6 sxt? for $9,995. 72k miles.

Price is very relative to where you live but that sounds high for the 3.6 with that trim package. Definitely a notch below slt on the trim.

Can't really comment on the truck but welcome to truck ownership. I have had trucks since I was 17 and am now 52. I had a car on occasion but when I did, I wished I had a truck. Trucks are the only way to go.

That truck looks similar to mine. Except mine has almost no chrome. I say if you like it and the engine sounds good then go for it. You will not go wrong.

And :welcome: to the ram forums.
