Just bought my 2019 Ram 1500 (5.7L) 4WD, and am coming up on it's first oil change. I was wondering if it would be better for longevity to go with a full synthetic oil over the dealer recommended semi-synthetic?
I traded in a 2004 GMC because I'm doing more light towing with a new camper trailer and wanted the added torque without switching to diesel. I'm a little out of date on all the newer options and I would like this Ram to last at least 15 years.

I like to wait for engine break-in before switching from conventional engine oil to synthetic engine oil. I usually give it 15,000 miles, then switch to a high quality synthetic engine oil along with a very good synthetic media engine oil filter.
