Just joined the forum after buying my first ever Ram 1500 R/T on Monday (Chevy guy since 1993 but everyone's entitled to at least one mistake). Wondering if anyone has had the same experience I'm getting with the on-board OEM back-up camera. Periodically getting nothing but a blue screen when 1) in low light environments or 2) whenever it feels like it. It looks like the camera wiring passes between the body and tailgate right at the lower pivot point directly below the camera site. Moving the wiring harness a bit may have solved the problem once but I'm not convinced that's the entire problem. Wondering if I have a live wire short of loose ground wire. Any thoughts before I tackle the dealer's service department? Thanks.

Welcome!! I too have been a life long chevy person... no longer!

Show us some pics of the new ride!

I have only had the blue screen on my backup camera once. It went away when I put it back in drive and haven't seen it since. Seems more like a software glitch to me than a loose connection....

Here's a shot of the new R/T. Thanks for the tip re: software glitch. Heading to the dealer Monday for a look-see.

Welcome! Beautiful truck. No issues with my camera but I know several on the Ford forums had trouble with pinched wires but thats what warranty is for. :) Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome! Dealer took care of the backup camera problem by replacing the camera. Working great now.
