Well I went to bed one night with two F150s in the driveway, a 2006 and a 1990, woke up the next morning with two Mopars. A 2014 Ram 1500 Tradesman that I have had for just about a year now (been a lurker on here just as long) and a 1978 Dodge W200 that I eyeballed for quite a while (even when I was a four letter f-word guy) and finally had the chance to buy.

I am in southern Indiana. Truthfully have always been back and forth between Ford and Dodge/Ram. These are my first two Mopar products however. My dad has had two Ram 1500 tradesman single cab long bed company trucks (a 2012 and now a 2015) and they had been great so when I went to get rid of my 06 f150, I jumped ship because of the price I found my truck for (more on it down below) and the history of the two company trucks he had.

I bought my 2014 in May of 2017. It is a Tradesman 4x4 quad cab, 6’4” box with power equipment group and the chrome appearance group. My only mods are bed toolbox, rear underseat duha box, weathertech floor liners and a Superchip tuner. It is my daily driver and I have been quite pleased with it over the year I have owned it. Do wish it had the Ramboxes though.

Other truck is a toy. It is a 1978 W200 I bought from the original owner who ordered the truck from the local dealership in November of 1977. It is pretty much all original, 440, 727 trans, dana 60 in the rear, dana 44 up front, full time 4wd. Only 78,000 miles and grage kept its entire life.

Yeah thats how I am everytime I look at it. Haha. Going on 8 months of owning it and the lust still hasnt worn off. The guy who bought it new in Nov of ‘77 was a good friend of my grandpas. Much like my grandpa, he was one of those guys that knew pretty much everything. Up until the day I bought it, I had never seen it in person. I knew he had it from hearing others talk about it but he rarely brought it out. When I heard he was selling it due to his age and physical condition (he passed away sadly 2 months after I bought it), I just had to have it. He opened the barn door and the first words out of my mouth were literally, “I want it, its sold.” I do not regret it. Paid a pretty penny for it, but hey, a 1978 one owner in original condition, its only money and you cant take it with you when you die. Plus you rarely see them anymore. The local fire dept I am on, and my grandpa was on, and also the original owner of the ‘78, has a 1977 M880 which is the military version of this truck. Its a 318 but is a 1 1/4 ton instead of a 3/4 ton (gov’t spec’d them that way) I have put that truck through hell a few times and she takes it in stride.

Its pre-ram days so I dont know how appropriate it is to show off here but I hope ya’ll dont mind. Its a 3/4 ton Power Wagon, a real one, not one of those things they call power wagons today...though I have been ******* over a blue 2017 PW at my local dealer but its out of my price range. Maybe one day.
