This is for you guys on the fence on getting the new UAQ for the onboard navigation. It’s a pet-peeve of mine to have even though my UAS system had CarPlay. I have to say I finally used it and it’s just not as good at navigating as the one in my 2016 NAV! What I mean is in several places the next road I needed to turn on came into my existing road at about 45 degrees so not a flat hard right. In fact there were a few turns like this throughout the journey. The problem is that even though the nav would highlight that turn on the route, it wouldn’t tell me to turn! I actually had to turn around and go back after I went past it and it said recalculating. Another way to put it: I was on road A for 2.5 miles and had to make that 45 degree right hand turn onto road B for another 2.5 miles Instead of the nav telling me to turn on road B at 2.5 miles it simply told me that I needed to stay on road A for 5 miles when I first got on it as if the turn onto B was just a turn in the road! In comparison, Google maps would say “stay on road A for 2.5 miles” and then tell me “turn right on road B”.
My 2016 would have told me like google maps does. Maybe they’ll fix this in an update.
