Hey guys,
So I’ve searched and I’m finding conflicting answers, so thought I’d describe my scenario and hopefully help me!
So I have a 2013, and the tpms were showing a correct number for one tire, and nothing for the other 3 (I’m assuming those 3, the batteries were dead since those sensors have been in there for at least 5 years) — so this must mean that my receiver or RF hub or whatever is working, right?
So then when I got new tires and wheels, I purchased 4 brand new sensors (Mopar #56029398AB) — which they said was compatible with my vehicle.
From everything I researched, since these were genuine OEM sensors, I should have been able to simply drive the truck for a while, and the system should have picked them up, no?
Well that didn’t happen for me….it simply shows “- -“ for each tire now.
What did I do wrong/miss?
-Did I actually need to do some programming?
-Could the sensors I got have been dead?
-Was I given the wrong part number?
It’s been months since, and still nothing is displayed — so I guess the “just drive on them and they will eventually show up” hope is out the window now lol
Anyways, I’m getting my winter tires put on soon, so thought it would be a good time to get new sensors installed while the tires are off.
If the only solution to getting the OEM sensors working is to go to the dealership…..I might just buy some aftermarket ones on Amazon….then I will definitely need a programming tool that works with whatever specific aftermarket brand the sensors are, right?
Can any of this be done in Alfa OBD?
Also: before swapping the sensors (when only one was working), the TPMS warning light would be on the dash. Now since replacing them, the warning light is no longer on.
Thanks guys!!
