Been a gear head all of my life. Always bought fixer uppers. Restored a few cars as well.
Sooooooo, in 2017 I decide to buy my first ever brand new vehicle, a Ram Laramie crew cab. Ordered it with just two options. Those being limited slip Diff. and large capacity full tank. I am very pleased with the truck. My only regret is that I did not go the distance and get the Ram Box. Original plan was to drive it until the drive train warranty expired and buy new again. Anticipating purchasing again in 2020 - 2021, I joined the 5th Gen. Forum. However, life has a way of altering one's plans and it looks like I will be driving the 2017 for quite some time. So I have now joined up and happy to be here.

Just realized I had no Photos of the Ram so I took a couple.
Not the best environment for photos today. Raining and the leaves are dropping.
I am a few hours directly north of you, Upstate. But as I recall anyone from Westchester north says they live upstate!;)IMG_2865.JPGIMG_2870.JPG

Nice looking truck. Lol, my wife and I were just laughing about that last night. A friend referred to our area as upstate, we asked him to pull up a map, laughed and told him that 65 miles NW of the city hardly counts as upstate...

A gear head wrencher who bought a Ram with a pentastar? Say it ain't so! LOL

I absolutely loved my 2017 w/ pentastar..
LOL,:D Yeah, showing my age I guess. If it gives me any redemption I once shoehorned a 389 from a wrecked GTO into a 55 Chevy 2 door hard top. And, just last week I sold the 409 with a ton of spare parts that was sitting on my garage floor. Maybe it is blasphemy to mention those names here.
The Ram was actually bought with a purpose in mind. Best way I can describe it is to say it is a touring vehicle for myself and the little lady. The V 6 is a proven engine and gets us amazing fuel mileage over the road while providing all the power we will ever need. With the extra fuel capacity I have driven it 700 miles on a tank of fuel on two different occassions. I am 6'2" and 210 pounds and a full size truck is about the only thing I am comfortable in for long days on the road. The crew cab allows us to carry things that we want to stay secure inside the truck as well as friends from time to time. And the bed is useful for the rest. Though with the short box the area just in front of and just behind the wheel wells is pretty useless. Thus, why I wished I had the foresight to order the Ram Box. Just passed 40,000 miles on the truck and it is all highway miles.Three trips to Newfoundland and back, three trips to Florida as well as one trip to the west coast and back.
So far it has been a very good truck. Though I cannot say that I have not had a couple of dealers fall short of my expectations.

Nice! A crew cab with a pentastar is a rare find. I'm not sure I've ever seen one and honestly didn't know if they existed. The only reason I no longer own my 2017 Ram 1500 w/ pentastar is it was a quad cab and I wanted a crew. Couldn't find a crew cab w/ pentastar.

I see you're from the N.East. I'm about 20 miles south of Buffalo so I feel your pain. LOL.

Something that comes to mind.. Do you use or have you had issues with your parking brake (yet)?? You will. Hate to be that guy, but I've been thru it with my 2017 and had I not just cleaned and lubed the works for my 2019 classic's P-brake, it would have gotten ugly by this spring for me for sure.

Thanks for the heads up. No problems yet. Maybe because I do use it when on inclines. One thing I always have avoided with any vehicle has been leaving it sit on hills with pressure on the transmission parking pawl. Also, the truck has never seen a North East winter.
I saw your location, I know exactly where you are. I am south East of you not far from the VT border.

Welcome to the forum.

Red
Thanks Red, I am sure there is a connection between your screen name and truck color.
Nice looking truck. I was contemplating a 2500. I did not know a 50 gallon fuel tank was an option on the 2500. Also, I much prefer the Torsen style limited slip. I was somewhat disappointed that the 1500 is not a Torsen and is a clutch type.

Thanks Joe,
The nicest RAM dealership I have come across was right off 81 in Virginia. They helped me out on very short notice when my differential started feeling wonky due to the home dealer failing to put the limited slip additive in on a fluid change. I believe it was in or near Staunton.
I remember the Service manager corrected my pronunciation of Staunton. I say Stawn-ton and you say Stan-ton.

Thanks Joeygster,
Pretty smart looking rig you have. I usually spend summers in your homeland but the virus nixed that this year.

Funny you say that because I spend more time vacationing outside of Canada. It's expensive for Canadians to travel in our own GD country. I've got a driving trip to Newfoundland and PEI on my bucket list though.
