Hi guys,

I spent months and months researching my next pickup. Looked at '14 F-150, '15 Sierra, '15 Tundra, and '15 Ram. Happy to say that after multiple test drives and reading every review I could find, I chose a '15 Ram EcoDiesel Laramie Crew Cab Short Box, in max steel. It's got the 4 corner suspension and tow mirrors. I need to get some new tires, thinking of going with Duratracs. Just changed out to the stubby antenna, and plan to get a Peragon bed cover very soon.

Looking forward to all the great advice from this site for years to come!

Congrats on the brand new truck! I'm new to dodge ownership myself and will be getting a second gen Ram next week. However, my dad had a early 70s Plymouth Fury big block back in the day. He was a Chevy/Mopar guy and it rubbed off on me lol. In any case enjoy that Ram, the new ones are really impressive.

Thanks, I'm very happy with my choice. I've owned two F150's in the past so this was a big choice for me. My dad and brother have been Dodge guys for almost 30 years.

I was not willing to buy an aluminum 2015 Ford, and finding a decently equipped new '14 became almost impossible. The Tundra felt like it was made of plastic and the mpg's are terrible. The Sierra came in 2nd place, but it felt like driving a car instead of a pickup. Almost felt like GM tried to make a low-rider.

One more pic and I'll update when I get some new shoes!

That's cool!
Ya, I'm not a fan of Ford. The last good vehicle Ford made was in 1972. Aluminum bodies, magnesium cross members and steel frames are metallurgicallly incompatible and an idiotic combination. Those bodies will galvanically corrode in less than 5 years. The mag crossmembers will eventually crack with heavy use.

I barley consider the Tundra in the same class as the Big 3 and it's control layout is foreign....just like the truck.

I have good insight on GM since I've driven GM trucks almost exclusively.

1962: Friend of mines truck. Driving it felt like going back in time and it was a real truck.

1974: My personal classic truck. These trucks are tanks and were made for real work. Double walled sheetmetal, massive 454 engines, four barrel carbs etc. These things were built right.

1995: The GMT400, great trucks...but starting to get more carlike. My friend has one and I have driven it. Decent sheet metal however 25% less than 73-87

2000: The first of the GMT-800s, here is where we start getting into dangerous territory, these trucks became much more carlike with frame rails starting to become fully boxed on half tons. Again a friend of mines truck. The sheetmetal is starting to get thin.

2008: My first truck ever. Saved up all my hard earned cash throughout HS and while I can't really say anything bad about it for nostaligic reasons...I can criticize it's flaws. GMT900 had fully boxed frame rails that were hydroformed up front. Paper thin sheet metal and very smooth steering and suspension...very carlike.

2014-2015: The K2XX, drove them at the dealership I worked at. Totally disconnected from the road, electric assisted steering etc. Even the diesels felt like cars!
