I see an AI in your sig, get the A/F kit for it or a stand alone as your next thing on your mod list. It will get you ready for the CMR tuning the next mods will need. That cam on BV heads will not run except 2 footing it to get it out of a garage on a canned tune. If you go with his stuff get him to tune it.

Ryan will tell ya the comp 268 is a great cam and I myself have eyeballed it a few times. Its a great track cam with midrange still.

the 268 is an awesome cam..... pulls strong from around 3000rpm-6600rpm, the go is there, the tq however is not, it's a bit more than stock to be honest. but that isn't bad in a rcsb as its light weight and doesn't need gobs of torque to get it moving (I can light up the tires on demand, or if I'm not paying attention and hit it a little too hard, and get a second gear chirp) on a lifted 4x4 quad cab.... not so much. in your case with those big tires, lift, 4x4, quad cab, your are going to need torqueand all the torque you can get which is not what the 268 excels at, neither does the srt max for that matter. I know a few guys that have ran that cam (srt max), all rcsb, and must complain about it because it's not a very streetable cam. it's a high revving cam with a very top end orientated powerband. take a look at the dyno sheets for that cam and look at where it makes its power, then watch your rpm's when you drive and take a look at where they stick around as far as normal driving, passing, merging etc. Really your going to want something that is a low-mid cam with lots of low end torque. cam needs to match the truck and needs to match your mods or it won't be fun to drive plain and simple.

Paired up with the right tq converter, the 268 could be a powerful cam though...even in the big quad cab. Its all about getting into your powerband, so if the 268 starts making power at 3000rpms, then he would just need a 3000 stall converter. Sean has tuned tons of 268 equipped trucks, so there shouldn't be any drivability issues. With a stock converter, that cam would be a waste, but pairing it up with a 2800-3000 stall and the ported heads, I don't think there will be any lack of tq.

See I feel like my low end now is where I am best my top end mid range is horrible until my recent mods I never really felt a second gear prime lol. I had a guy at the track today say how he was surprised how good I pulled low end but I start falling off mid to top end I mean on the streat with my mods know I can blow the tires off no problem and when I race I don't run the 35s that to expensive lol

with the 268, probably not that big of a difference, no, it will just take more to bring up the tq. From a racing stand point it will do good with a high stall and heads.... but normal day to day driving or towing I believe he will notice a hit to the low-end tq.
