New product, LEDs to possibly replace the CCFL halos

Well, my supplier has come through with some REALLY kick ass LEDs! Thinking of using these instead of the CCFLs that I use now.

Advantanges - MUCH brighter. The 70MM led ring shown below has 81 LEDs in it. Also, won't break it putting it in (I've broke a few CCFLs. LOL)

Disadvantages - Price. 2X as expensive..... And, when off they are yellow. Hmmm

Anyway, heres some pics. Some are shown next to the CCFLs I carry now.

What are your thoughts?

hmmm. not liking the yellow..... but damn they are bright and I would have them turned on all the time so i wouldnt have to see the yellow.

Quite a few of my LX car buds here have swapped over to the LED's. Another advantage is that they last longer because they are not as fragile as the CCFL tubes.

The weird thing.........the amber version of these - its white when off. LOL - I don't think I'm going to make a big purchase of these until they get that fixed........

Sam, at this time, no - as those are cut to fit. When I priced out the ones for the 4th gen, they would have been JUST like these, at the tune of 30K initial investment. Noooooooooooope!

Smart man. Get a hundred bucks here and there. Then I'd sell it, and get the start up money back plus some.

See if you could get like a layer of plastic, and tint that, so it'll still shine good. But if you don't have to. It's your idea.
