Question - do you happen know *when* that inverter switch signal is active?
i.e. only during Run? does it work during remote start. etc?
Im considering using it as a trigger for a relay so I wanted to know when it would be active.
I have a 2017 that came with the inverter, so all wiring is factory.
Thanks.

I haven't installed mine yet and I have a 2014, but from what I have read, the Inverter Switch Signal, which is the feed from the BCM, is live when the truck is in the ACC or RUN positions. I don't have remote start (yet), so I'm not certain about that aspect.

I can think of a pretty simple test though. Get a low wattage lamp*, plug it into the inverter and sit it where you can see it through the windows. Close the truck up, lock it and wait for it to sleep (a couple of minutes). Hit the remote start and see if the lamp lights when the truck starts.

* Swipe the little one out of the bedroom. You know, the ugly decorative one you inherited from somebody's aunt Matilda? A night-light borrowed from the kids' bedroom also works, just be sure to put it back when you're done.

Anyone with more info, please feel free to chime in!

Easy enough, I think I have an ugly lamp standing around somewhere.

My goal is actually something that can signal the truck is RUNning. I prefer it not to be live in Accessory or even while cranking. Only want it live once the truck knows it is already started.

It is for a relay that will let power to aftermarket seat heaters. Would be nice if they did not draw any power from the truck if they were left on until the truck is actually running, so it doesnt affect cranking, etc.

Ok, thanks to @danielmid I have confirmed that the pin 6 "Parking Lamp" connection is indeed to trigger the LED to dim when the rest of the dash does. I've updated my post above with the new info.

Still working on it. I've got the main power wire run from the TIPM and most of the harness built. I need to actually get it in there to know how long to make the wires (they are currently over-long) and hook it into the kickpannel connector. I'm currently waiting on some more pins to arrive. The only other wire I need to run is the one from the BCM to the kickpannel.

Just a quick FYI, I found a place online that sells small quantities of the 1.5mm 7114-4101-02/ 7116-4101-02 pins/sockets at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, they don't have the 2.8mm ones. They do however claim to be willing to look into whatever terminals you need so I sent them an email explaining that the Yazaki 1.5 and 2.8 series are two of the most common we needs on our RAMs and asking if they'd be willing to stock the 2.8 as well. I'll post back with whatever reply they give.

Edit: I found the black connector. I confirmed that the wire from pin 4 at the receptacle goes to the black IP connector in my 2017, but it doesn't have the wire to the BCM. I have a BCM pin and wire I didn't use for my bed lights. I have everything I need to do this except the seat bracket. I already have the BCM programed using AlfaOBD so I hope to have this working this weekend.

Dave,
Where did you get the spare BCM pin? Was it part of the bed light package?

It was part of the kit. The instructions wanted the wire ran inside to the BCM, but I found the wire was already ran from the BCM to the connector under the truck next to frame. So I removed the pin, cut it, and soldered the wire from the kit going back to the lights.

Sorry, not yet. Life and the weather have not been cooperative. We (@STecoD, @Mpgrimm2 & myself) did find the proper pin for the BCM connection for both this and the hood latch for the remote start though.

It's an MLK 1.2 style female terminal.

Aptive/Delphi - S2072401

or

Kostal - 32124734020000

We haven't been able to find a small volume source for the Aptive ones. Mouser had thousands of the Kostal in stock last week and has 0 today. Someone appears to have completely bought them out.

The Kostal 32124734120000 version MAY also work. It's the same pin but meant for a sealed connector (our BCM connectors are unsealed) but it has not been tested at this point.

I have some of the pins for the BCM left from when I did my remote start, if you need a few, I'll be more than happy to drop them in the mail.

I got mine before they sold out, but thanks for the offer.
