Hey guys, have about 4k on a 2500 cummins Laramie.
I'm digging the truck so far for the most part. Runs good sounds good, great audio system just enough technology and pulls my daily trailer great.
But one thing that's kinda driving me crazy is what I'm calling door flutter. I live in a area with really ...... ****** roads and when I hit some of the rougher patches at speed the driver and passenger doors make a slapping noise. It's like the doors are flexing and the seals are flapping together.

Is this a ram thing? Everyting else seems really solid but this issue just feels/sounds cheap

Pull the door panels off, check for stowaway mexican`s...lol
Ok seriously, i would go back to the dealer and take another new one out for a test ride, see if that one does it. I would also drive a used one with low miles too, to see what that sounds like too. If it does the same thing, probably a "ram thing".

In the mean time, clean the seal surfaces and the all the door seals. Then take a micro fiber towel, spray it with your favorite interior detail cleaner and go over the seals and the surface where the door seals up to the cab. I had one of my rams squawking, cleaned the door seals and surface, good ever since. Not saying this will fix your issue, because i`m not there to see and hear what yours is doing.

Also check the very bottom seal... (the short one that only goes along the bottom of the door)
i had one on my drivers door that wasn`t installed tight... the push pins that held the seal were barely pushed in. Could hear it flapping.

That's a new one.

Not sure what the problem is, but if the doors were to move far enough for the seals to 'flap' together at all, you'd see wear marks in the paint of the door jamb.

The outer/secondary seal could be flapping against the body if loose as was mentioned above.

I'd lean more towards maybe an interior door panel being loose, or the upper adjustable mount for the seatbelt making noise (mine did that till I figured out what it was), and it showed up under the same conditions you claim yours does.

I wrapped a rag around it tight and went for a drive and the noise was gone........that was how I figured it out.

Next time it does it, have someone else hold the seatbelt mount up top to see if it goes away. Hard to say for sure from that video.

That also sounds similar to the seal slap I had on the trim around the windshield on a chevy I owned....at speed, the trim would get air under it and slap against the glass.....fix was to glue it down with sealant.

BTW, that is definitely not normal and a new/uncommon problem.

Hmmmmmm, kinda like the door is not set correctly, like the pin latch not set right and air getting in there and door shaking... Hmmmmm, that's a new one. One of the guys on here that does body work etc will need to chime in. I am just thinking out aloud...probably no help at all, just saying...
