New safety Recall U-61

My 2017 4x4 CC Big Horn when i backed out of a parking lot this AM it stopped abruptly like i hit a wall and the R light started to blink rapidly shifted to D and it also started to blinking also consensus is it is shifting park, i turned the key off for a minute or so and it did this again about 4 more times before i got it home and called 800-423-6343 to talk to a Ram tec but got a nice lady that knew nothing about my problem but did know that i had a Safety Recall mailed out a couple days ago #U-61 that needed to be performed . Called my dealer he had me to come in and he did the Recall and THOUGHT that might solve my problem?? Hope so.
I dont know what year other than the 2017 on the U-61 recall.

U61 is the recall to fix an issue where cruise control will not get cancelled under a specific set of circumstances.

Your issue doesn't sound related but I've seen it talked about here before so its definitely not unique. You should be able to find some info here using the search function

Hey Walt,

If you decide you'd like to circle back and visit the dealer, let us know. We can go ahead and get a case started on this and escalate to a Case Specialist for further handling.

Jesmine thank you the offer i think i will wait to see if it does it again, i think i caused the problem by trying to shift before coming to a complete stop that got the problem started and this has happened two sepret times so far and neither time cause a code.
I am now being careful to come to a complete stop before shifting .
I will definitely contac you if it happens again.

The recall affects all 2014-2018 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500/5500. Just got the letter in the mail I am taking mine in Thursday. Doesn't hurt to check if it is short circuiting.
