I contacted 1A Auto and suggested that they should make a mirror like the chevy styled ones for our trucks and they said they would forward my suggestion to the proper department. So here is my idea
.... if everyone here that would like new mirrors that bolt on should contact
Sara S at, [email protected]
Maybe many emails would encourage them to make something for us!

this was a big yopic over.on the cumminsforum. there was a company supposedly doing it for the hd trucks. then it died out. i havent been on that site in quite a while tho. from what i gathered in that thread, it was not as simple as it seams. there was also plenty of demand for them from the hd guys. curious how the half ton differs from the hd trucks for the tow mirrors.

one thing i found interesting was that on the 19 ram 1500, if you went tow mirrors, you could not get power folding. yet the new hd tow mirrors are power folding. i do not have tow mirrors on my ram, but if i did i would need them flipped up as i hate the side to side mirrors .

People were doing on the Ford's they take f250 mirrors and put them on the f250 what years were compatible I don't know.

I can't speak for 5th Gen trucks, but for the 4th gen trucks all the mirrors are the same for the 1500, 2500 & 3500. (Not sure about the 4500+). The only reason you can't get power folding tow mirrors on the 4th Gen 1500s from the factory is that FCA decided not to offer them. If you have power folding regular mirrors* you can just install a set of power folding tow mirrors off of a 2500+ (along with the internal brackets in the doors to support the extra weight).

*Or you swap in the proper door modules & switch and get the codes set in the BCM.

If people want foldable mirrors this would be the answer if u want the camera that's a separate issue

Yes, but (factory) mirror mounted cameras are a 5th Gen only option. This is the 4th Gen forum. :)

an after market option that is telescopic would be nice.
Yes someone said they tried with a different company to no avail, was just hoping that another company may see a lot of interest and would attempt something for us

I’ve suggested that to them on another ram forum and felt like it fell on def ears. I will try sending them an email as well.

I personally see the current tow mirrors that ram offers as not very good. When I’ve asked people who drive their rams with the tow mirrors flipped up why, I always get that they get a better view that way, down position isn’t very good. I don’t see why ram keeps using a sub par design just because it’s uniquely theirs.
