After a ton of debating I am thinking I might go with BFG Rugged Terrain TA's on my truck. I am thinking I'll keep the stock size of 275/60 R20 since all my mods to this point have been speed/performance related and I really don't want to sacrifice the "get up n'go" that she has right now by going with a leveling kit and lift and all that. I don't do a lot of trail riding but would like the capability if I want to. Any feedback would be appreciated. I found these pics online of the tread pattern and the other is on a dodge from a other forum.

Personally I would go with the All Terrain T/A KO. Much better tire IMO.

If you are going off road frequently then the all terrains will be better, but if you are only going off road rarely then the rugged terrains will be fine. But me personally I agree with Mugster, the all terrains will be overall a better tire.

I had a bad experience with the all terrains several years ago and will never buy them again. The compound is way too soft and the tires w/ rotating them, wore out in under 36k miles. I have had nitto terra grapplers and pro comps and they were great.

I had all terrain ta ko on my last truck. Loved them except for one thing. Highway speeds they tent to get a little squirrelly. I am trying to go with a road tire with off road abilities. Another one I am looking at is Cooper Zeon LTZ. Pic I found online. Price is close to the same. Maybe a little under the bfg's. the bfg's do come with a 50,000 mile warranty though. The coopers do not. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1390689129.633792.jpg

I had the coopers on my 07 Sierra. Loved them pulled good off-road and was quiet on the blacktop. I put about 20,000 miles on them and they still looked new when I traded the truck to my Ram.

How was the tread wear? Handling? They don't come with a tread warranty like the bfg's do.

So I just found out that I have a close friend that delivers tires for a "web based" company in my area. He has given me a coupon code worth an additional 10% off my purchase. This company carries Nitto Terra Grapplers and I can get all four for 750.00 delivered to a shop of my choosing for installation for 65.00 for all four. Would this be a better fit I wonder?

They wore nice and flat for me. Handled pretty good. But my GMC wasn't no speed demon. Like I said mine had roughly 20,000 miles on them when I traded that truck off. And they still looked as good as the day I got them.

Road noise is one of the most important things for me. Right now, all signs point to nitro Terra grapplers.

The terra grapplers are nice. My dad had a set on his 04 Rubicon. Road noise was bad. But when your driving a jeep you can hear everything.

I'm lookin at 1100 for cooper, 1200 for bfg or about 1000 for nitto after install and taxes and all the other fees so it's all real close in price. I just want a good set that looks good, handles good, lasts long and won't tear down the power mods I've installed to this point.

I had 2 sets I nittos on 3 trucks. Thy were great tires, quiet and no wobbles. My buddy who sold me both sets said he personally knew several people who got 80k miles out of them. I have never wore a set out.

I'll be buying the BFG Rugged Terrains again as soon as I ever need tires... if that tells you anything... great tread life and road hazard warranty... no road noise above the stock Goodyears and they're only 24lbs so won't slow you down a bit...

Looks like a nice tire. How are they in the snow? I don't do any real off roading since I sold my Jeep, but I have a camp on Tug Hill in the Adirondacks and deal with snow a lot. My stock tires on my 2014 sport actually surprised me, but I would like something a little more aggressive for snow. Unless I pick up another set of wheels and buy dedicated snows......

The Rugged Terrains are much better in snow, on ice and in the sand... I've never really had them in any significant mud... just the winter's of Canada and on beaches... and definitely better all around than the Goodyears... much better on the highway in blizzard conditions too... I can tell you that from several experiences...

I put those coopers on my 2014 sport, they are great. I took the truck on the snow covered beach the other with no problems. The look great, they are like a hybrid all terrain/sport tire if that makes any sense. I had the BFG AT on my last ram and they were noisy. I prefer Bridgestone dueler at revo but they don't make it for these. I have zero complaints with the cooper zeon. I paid $930 mounted and balanced through Mavis.
