wonder if they are available up here in ak...?

Well you can check their website by googling treadwright. They might ship up there. Probably cost a bunch tho. 100 for shipping from their factory in SD to Georgia. But the guard dogs are amazing in the snow. Had them on my old 2nd gen up in the UP of Michigan. Could plow thru 3 foot drifts like nothin at all. If you pay the 10 dollars extra per tire you can get kedge grip which they put walnut shell and glass flake in the rubber to add edges for more grip. Works amazing on ice let me tell ya. I highly recommend them and will be getting some 285s for my 3rd gen when my tires wear out.

I'm going to look into that. Everyone up here runs cooper discoverer m+s or nokian hakkapalitas on the trucks for studded tires in the winter.

Anyone who has mt tires (cooper stt and toyo mt are most common) sipe them so they don't slide everywhere on the ice.

Seems even if I can find a good price on tires, I end up spending the same as I would if I just bought them in the store due to shipping

:D

Almost worth it....

I checked the treadwright website and got a shipping quote on tires in stock size.

Tire prices are awesome!
This is for the "Claw" E rated...
$125.00 ($155.00 MSRP)

Shipping to Alaska is not...
FedEx Home Delivery: $182.67 per tire.

Works out to $1200 give or take.

That actually is saving some money over buying mt tires here, but I would still need to get them installed....

I like to support our local businesses, but who knows? Maybe I'll do it anyway...

that's about par for the course with shipping to alaska. we often have to ask how bad we really need it because shipping is more than the product...

cost of doing business when you live in alaska i guess...

we dig amazon prime :)
