New to Dodge

Hey everyone, new to the forum and new to trucks in general.

Just traded a recently wrecked 96 Grand Cherokee for this 2nd gen with the 5.2 V8 w/5 speed manual 4x4. Previous owner had the transmission grenade on him and he bought an automatic for it but never got around to putting it in. I'd prefer to keep it manual so I'm currently searching for a transmission. I'm also wanting to get it on the road so I'll be doing some forum searching on what all goes into installing the auto trans since I've already got it. Any suggestions on where to look or general information is always appreciated.

I would prefer the standard too. Have you seen a detailed report on the existing tranny or explored repair/rebuilding?

I've actually got the old tranny that blew on the previous owner. The bellhousing is shattered and the transfercase is toast. I was given a new transfer case along with the auto transmission and I'm not sure if it's interchangeable with the nv3500? I have 0 knowledge on any of this stuff so I'm really not sure what route to take just yet.

Yup, that is obviously toasted, and no report is necessary.

There are several members here who are experienced in this area. Your best bet would be to start a new thread in the 2nd-gen section.
