So I picked up a set of SRT-10 wheels from DubstepShep (Thanks Buddy), and now its time to paint them but I'm not 100% sure what I am going to do with them as per color. I want to retain the black wheel in the R/T as I think it works well and will go with the Black roof that will eventually be Gloss Black.

With that what I'm thinking is coloring them black in these forms
A. Powdercoat Semi-Gloss Black
B. Powdercoat Gloss Black
C. Paint Semi-Gloss black with a red 1/8" stripe painted around the wheel lip
D. Painted Gloss Black with red 1/8" stripe

Here is what my truck looks like

If you're going gloss black on the roof go with gloss on the wheels. IMO it will look more cohesive. A red stripe would make them pop too.

This is why god invented Plasti-dip. Spray the black and red stripe, then work down to just black. Take pictures, peel the crap off when you are done.

My vote is to incorporate some of the red into the wheel. It would fit with the style of your truck. Also, as someone suggested, match the wheel color to the roof color.

Here is an idea, deeeeeep charcoal red. First glace, its black, further inspection, has red in it.

The red line around the edge like the ebay ones and then paint the calipers red. I'm going to paint my Chrome ones gloss black here soon. Then debadge. Getting rid of all the chrome besides the HEMI badge as that breaks it up some.

Uhhhh I have no chromeon the R/T its all color matched from the factory and the only badge I have is the HEMI badge and the red R/T in the grill. and the HEMI badge will eventually look like this -

Calipers are already red w/ cross-drilled rotors. and I have Red Pan hard bar and control arms on their way from Moes.

I've thought about using a flat black and then spraying a red tinted clear over it to get that effect but I think that may be too "flashy" for the more racey executive clean look I'm going for. I want more subtle/simple then in your face look.

Only problem with that is I detest chrome.... Hate it Never liked it. only place I like it is on hotrods and classics... I think it looks cheap.

The other thought was instead of black use Gunmetal

As much as its over done. Gloss black would be the only color I would do on a red truck. Unless you stick to the gunmetal or hyper black colors.

The SRT-10s do look good in chrome though.

Yeah they don't look bad, just not a chrome fan. If I do paint gunmental the roof will get the same treatment... I'm going to polish them up and see how they look prior to paint and see how I like them.
But I agree the black is over done but I like the dark painted look and I think the red stripe would give it a little step above and not just look like every other truck with black wheels.

I may change my mind completely and leave them polished alum.

The point of the deep black red is to be subtle. Sort of like someone does a double take, "wait, do those have red in them?"

The only thing I would change about your trucks outside is the head and fog lights. The chrome clashes imo. Maybe just red the center caps or the backside of the rim.

Nope Don't like it, I'd have to get a chain, gold tooth and learn how to play basketball..

I'd go with something like this other then black though
SportsGunmetal3.jpg

But if I do that, the roof, hood grills, grill insert all match that color...
