Hey guys,

Just picked up a 2012 Ram 1500 ST quad cab but the keyless entry isn't working. I've found 1000 threads about this but none of them really addressed my issue (that I could find). If this IS a repeat thread feel free to point me in the right direction.

Anyhow, here's my problem. The keys have lock and onlock on them suggesting the truck has keyless entry. The spec sheet for this truck (pulled by vin) shows it has "Remote keyless entry with All-Secure". I have two keys that work while turning on the truck, but neither of them work to lock or unlock the car. The power lock/unlock button on the door DOES work though so the locking functionality should be working. The lock, unlock and panic buttons don't work.

Here's what I've tried based on all the threads:
1. FOB Battery - I replaced both. Yes they are in the right position with the + facing downwards
2. Tweaked the battery connection leads - both the + and the negative to make sure that the battery was connected properly
3. Fixed the little circuit connectors on the back side of the rubber in the key itself. The locking ones were out of position so I glued them on
4. I also tried to bridge the leads manually with a clip directly on the circuit board to ensure that it was not a lead issue (e.g. cleaning off the leads and using a pencil on the circular connectors to make sure it has a good connection)
5. Checked the fuses under the hood. In particular M38 suggests that it's for the door locks but I checked all of them
6. Disconnected the battery for a few minutes to let it reset

I have the diagFCA program as well and I couldn't find the program in the Routines section either to program/reprogram the fobs. Weird part is that they work to start the truck no problem but they don't work to lock/unlock. Even though the power door locks work when I manually push the button in the car.

Any suggestions?

The fobs use the radio antenna to send signal to the truck If I'm not mistaken.
Check the connection from antenna to radio.

Also, I noticed when I replaced the factory antenna with a shorter billet one I have to aim my fob more at the antenna to activate locks/remote start.

Hye @NJMOPAR, radio works great. Antennae is connected. Both of my FOBs don't work no matter where you are or how close you are to the truck (or even in the truck in the passenger or driver side). Nothin..

You could try an aftermarket fob but might have to get it programmed by a locksmith.

Is it possible the fobs are replacements that weren't programmed? Totally spitballing

Hey guys so it ended up being the fobs themselves. They work on the truck to turn it on but didn't work for keyless entry. I actually picked up one of the dorman keys with the programmer at Oreilly's and used the keys I had to program it and the new key works.
