True, but how many people in the 1500's forums pay for a 395 hp / 410 lb-ft 5.7L over a 305 hp / 269 lb-ft 3.6L knowing it will cost them thousands of dollars extra in fuel in the long run yet many here will question paying even less or the same amount in the long run on a 370hp / 800 lb-ft Cummins over a 383 hp / 400 lb-ft 5.7L in an HD? I don't see many(if any) debates in the 1500 froums on whether the 5.7L is worth the added costs, if you will get your money back in fuel, or if you really need one to tow yet it happens in the HD threads all the time.

I can guarantee that the average 1500 5.7L owner is probably paying more in total cost over 100k over a 3.6L owner than a HD Cummins owner is over 5.7L or 6.4L owner yet the diesel is the only one that gets questioned. It just boggles my mind just like why people spend $11k on a Laramie package without questioning it yet question an $8k diesel package that gets you better fuel economy and better performance.

While doing all my searching, I can’t believe how many 2500’s don’t have towing mirrors on the lot. Most of them have sport mirrors especially the Mega Cabs. To me that is crazy...

That is strange. When I bought mine I'm pretty sure every HD truck on the lot (at least the ones I looked at) had tow mirrors.

Mine didn't have tow mirrors. I bought a used set online for $200 and added them myself.

They should be standard on every HD IMO. But they aren’t. And it depends on the dealer. If they aren’t too smart you won’t see them on the lot.

Yeah. The dealers order what they sell. Honestly you won’t find manny without tow mirrors here in Texas. Only models I see them on if any really is the upper trims. Guess they think they’re daily driver and not tow pigs? Every tradesman I’ve seen has tow mirrors.

My Ford buddies just tell me to flip up my tow mirrors and I get an extra 50 HP. I tried it and didn't feel a difference. haha. Seriously I get 13-11 MPG with flat Texas roads. 5.7 hemi and manual transmission. Good torque but NOT a hot rod. Have to downshift when in the hills. I like the gasser as it's easy to maintain and I can do my oil changes at home. don't have a big enough container for a diesel oil change. Also don't tow, just got a great deal on the truck and like it.

It’s funny you say that a buddy of mine has a 3500 Cummins and he said oil changes are a breeze. Just slide a 5 gallon bucket underneath and let it rip.

Ok guys I might be close on a deal actually found a new 2017 Big Horn Crew CTD 4x4. Dealer having a huge sale today and tomorrow trying to get rid of all older new inventory. Be going in this afternoon to see if we can work something out. Also have a nice Certified 17 CC Big Horn as well with 19k loaded. So we’ll see what happens.

But they both have regular power mirrors so if I do get something going I am going to have them work deal on tow mirrors as part of the deal.

A new 2017 nice. With the savings the mirrors will be zero issue to get. Heck you might be able to work that into the deal;)
