Hey guys, have had my '11 Ram Express for about 2 weeks now. Traded in an 08 trailblazer SS for it, sat on the fence between CC and RCSB and ultimately I'm glad with the decision I made! truck moves pretty well, and tows my 19' TT better than the tbss did. bought the truck with 44k miles on it, and they threw in an additional 60k mile bumper to bumper for free, so the mods will be light for now. here's pictures!

Old Truck

TB was LS2 with 4" intake, FW trans cooler, e-fan swap with a street tune and exhaust. Was rated 395hp/400tq from factory, I would guess it was probably 330hp and 360ish tq to the wheels on my less-than-stellar street tune. Ran well, had a lot of power but mileage was GARBAGE with the 4l65.

Traded it in and got a Pure White 2011 Ram with 44k on the clock and some nice "pawpaw" mods!

thats how it looked the day i bought. has a flowmaster 40 si/do welded in with resonators, and had side steps and deer whistles on the front. P/O did power window swap and added an aftermarket alarm, so that is a nice start. I believe i'll swap to factory alarm and remote start in the future. so far, I've removed the side steps, the door edge trim, and did a full clay and 1 step wax. waiting on a cooler weekend in texas to do a 3 stage. the truck will be getting a 2" drop in the rear in two days with an R/T rear sway bar, and possibly a 2/4 drop in the next couple of weeks. Already found a Diablo Trinity for a screaming deal ($180 for tuner and 85mm TB) and will be hopefully snagging those in a bit when the guy returns to stock. Since I tow, plans for this truck will be pretty mild, same reason i didn't add a lot of power to the TB. mostly light bolt ons, helper bag rear, and maybe LT's in the future. too happy that i have a warranty to want to void that right now. i do definitely see a vararam and blacked out OE 20"s in my future ;)

also did LED swap on the main white bulbs. eventually going to do the rest, love the stock lenses so not looking to swap to LED tails. I think i'll have to wire in load resistors to prevent hyper flashing. eventually i will also be doing LED's on a switch in the bed to light up under the cover.

this is the camper I'll be towing with it, probably going to size up now that I have the extra oomph.

Anyway, thanks for looking! hopefully I'll be able to contribute to this forum! I'm still a little active over at TBSSowners and still lurk f150online from my older days. I'll post updates to the thread with all my changes. This forum seems like a very helpful and active place!

Got lowering coils and rear sway bar installed last night. looking for a 2/4, thought the drop coils would level it but I don't like how much rake it still has

If you're gonna tow, why are you lowering it?
2wd and it will look better without the 6foot gap in the wells [emoji13]

Ill be doing it right, stiffer support in the rear and assist bags. my tbss was 31" from wheel well to the ground on all 4 corners and it had factory air ride and did decent. I figure with the rear sway and bags I'll be fine

I'm not slamming lol just a 2/4. with bags it shouldn't give me any issues. my tbss had factory airride only as the rear suspension and was good for about 6500lb. tongue weight was lower but that's due to no coils or shocks. it was only airbags on the rear. this truck with stiffer coils and air ride should pull like stock height would. my tt has WD hitch as well so it doesn't concern me much

Welcome, looks like you got a decent mod list planned out.
thanks man. what's done to yours? your ride height looks good in your avatar. I'm hoping these lower coils will settle and keep me level, if it did I would just skip the 2/4 and order the air ride. I'm getting a stupid great deal on a Trinity and larger throttle body when the dude has them ready for me. I'll get the intake after I get my tuner lined out. the guy has long tubes as well but I'm not sure if I wanna go through that with my warranty I have

debadged and lowered the rear to level the truck. looks so much better. not sure if I want to do 2/4 drop or just leave at this height and install bags. I like the stance right now

I wouldn't go any lower. I had 2" rear springs in my truck and it bottomed out just driving around town with nothing in the back. I took them back out instead of cutting the bump stops , cut 1 coil off the stock springs, put them back in and all is good now.

how do you like your stance with a cut coil? I'm going to be ordering the airlift 1000 bags for my truck for load leveling either route I go. I didn't like towing with my trailblazer because it felt too low, the drag from my camper was annoying. I might just put the bags in and stay at this level for now so I can spend my money on intake and tune, cleaning up the exhaust a little and getting black wheels
here's my 13 w/2-3 lowering...haul a lot...no issues
truck looks good man. good to hear it doesn't give you problems, makes me wonder what I'm going to do lol

Did you trade straight across for the ss? Seems with the regular cab you don't have room for passengers/kids. Looked like there was kids in the camping pics. Either way, if you're happy, awesome!!

nope no kids, just me and my girlfriend haha. ive wanted a reg cab ram for years now. I almost settled for a quad cab in silver but once I drove the reg cab just to see I couldn't walk away from it. she has a small crossover suv that we take on trips with any passengers and I have an old extended 3500 ram van with the 5.9 gasser if we need to tow the camper and bring a ton of people. we talked about getting a bigger truck one day in the future when we are doing the kids thing but for now I do 90% of my commute alone and I'm loving the warranty and the hemi in this light truck [emoji7]

took the truck on its first real tow. went from beaumont to Galveston state park. felt really good and strong, very pleased with how it did. it likes 4th in a good cross wind but otherwise I got pretty decent mileage. truck sat great as well even with lower coils on the rear, going to need air lift though eventually. I love that engine brake though!
