well, since i'm not getting a bike nor a cummins, due to insurance problems.

i'm thinking on getting either a 5.7 or 6.1 both small blocks.

REMEMBER, JUST THINKING. I am just throwing this out there.

You think a lot..... lol.... what kind of bike were you looking at getting. I only pay $14 a month for insurance on my Ducati. But that is also minimal coverage. lol

thinking keeps me sane, lol
kawasaki ninja 250, i know it's small, but i'd have to pay $50 a month, on top of gas, for both and insurance for my truck too, and continue to pay the rest of the truck.

but here's the link that i was talking about.

To throw into your truck? Too expensive and too much headache, just kick back, relax, save some money and enjoy your truck as it sits till you can grab a Hemi. I took a huge step back letting go of my truck (even though it was just a 3.7) and buying a Lexus, but it definitely got me closer to my dream truck. Im reaaallllyyy glad that i didn't throw unnecessary money into that truck. Kept it stock, saved my money, bought a gas saver, and before i know it ill have my 3rd gen CTD or 4th gen Hemi. As you said, you're just thinking, but I'm just throwing in my 2 cents. Well, 2 bucks.

I used to do the same thing
I would get myself all excited about something only to think it through more and remind myself school is more important
Everyone in my family has a new vehicle or a CTD so it just makes me look forward to finishing school and getting my own

Or you can work your ass off in school getting scholarships/grants to pay for everything, find a good job during the semester and an even better one in summer... Take advantage of it all, save money, and buy the truck you want. It's all in how bad you want it! Because I was so obsessed with getting a CTD, I did it all.. took time and patience, but I got it.

I mean like. I want it. I really want it.

I'd rather put in a engine I know my truck could handle than a cummins.

you might want to go to junk yards and see if ya cant pick up a good running hemi and pcm for it.
maybe you'll get lucky and the whole truck is ruined except a hemi engine lol

That price will change seeing as the 6.1 block is no longer in production. Also for that your at the same price as a 392 stroker short block. The link provided also is just a short block meaning you have to buy alot more. Figure in heads, intake manifold, fuel rails, injectors, timing set, that may come with a cam you would have to check, flywheel seeing yours will not work, oil pump if not supplied, oil pan, front cover for the 6.1, accessory bracker to run the intake setup, headers, cable operated TB from mopar. Thats a short list on the stuff, you may also have to purchase the lifters for the motor if not supplied in the short block, some companys throw those in. Ruff math on the 4K short block then everything I listed should put you in the 8k range for the motor give or take with an ok set of heads.

In all honestly buy a wrecked doner 1500 hemi and swap everything. Run a tuned hemi for awhile then do a cam/ head combo when you get tired of the truck as it is, stroke it, after that boost it.
