Nitriding Cam

Thinking about getting a camshaft treated to the Nitriding process. That will harden the lobes. I have a pare cam, it is used but flawless. I was going to get it polished at a machine shop and then get it the laser nitride process done.
Anyone done that?

This question can be taken one of two ways. Good as is well machined and hardened correctly. Or good as in performance added to the engine. For the latter quality one may also need to have a tune to extract the extra performance and avert fault codes from the cam running outside the OEM tolerances.
@Wild one has probably tried and thrown out a few what some would call a "good" cam.

The majority of aftermarket hi-po cams are pretty decent quality.
Supposedly the real early 6.1's used a billet cam,but i can't confirm if that's true or not,it's what the rumour mill has said
