I'm considering this tire for my 02 2500. I routinely tow 15k# on a gooseneck. Will this tire deal with this? Will it feel stable? I'm bought the 'wrong' tire before and it's a hassle and dangerous. :)

I got the 10-ply installed. Everywhere I looked to get them installed did price matching so id call around once you get a price. Ive had them on the last 3 trucks...seem to work well in all kinds of weather.

I bought a pair of them before a long trip a few years ago put them on the front of my truck with a recent alignment. I got 15,000 miles out of them before they were slicker than a peeled onion. they are some of the softest compound I've seen, my truck's not even a four-wheel drive either. unless they've changed the compound in recent years, I'll never buy another set. not sure what happened.
I strictly buy toyos now, never an issue and killer mileage. My truck is picky.

It took away a high speed vibe I had with the 10plys. I run like 35-6psi in front and 34-5 in rear . So far its probably been the most sensible move I have made since buying the truck . Sucks taking off almost $1500.00 worth of tires with less than 6,000 miles on them but I had run out of ideas to get this thing to ride better. Keep in mind I also have almost as light of a truck as you can get too being a RCSB so 10plys really effect me more than a heavier CC.

Gary,

Do you have any pics of them on the truck? I am thinking about going with these tires for my truck.

Yeah Gary, Comon put the Turkey Sammich down and go out and take a nice profile pic.
Those light tire choices are so few for us little guys.

I've gotten a few miles on them now and am quite happy with them. One of my biggest concerns is I'd gain road noise over the OEM tires, but that was unfounded. The tires are very quiet on the road.

We've had quite a bit of rain, some right at freezing (air temp below freezing but ground temp kept it from icing) and some wintry mix rain/snow. The wet weather traction is MUCH better then what I had with the OEM tires. For science I gave it about 75% throttle from a standing start at a red light and it briefly spun then chirped and took off. To me that says it swiped the water from the roadway very quickly, found the dry pavement underneath, and then hooked. That's a big improvement over the sit-n-spin I had going on before.

This tire should do ya well. They’re a 10 ply. 3650 carrying weight per tire. And if your trailer is loaded correctly that would mean a 1500# pin weight. I feel like it is a good fit for your truck.

Im in the opposite boat here. I think these are the worst tires ive ever had for wet conditions. I dont know what it is but even with a dew in the morning the tires are spinning when i try to pull out. If its raining i dont even try to pass anyone on the highway, I tried that once and felt like i was in Tokyo Drift. They were on the truck when I bought it and are basically brand new. My only thought is Im not used to the hemi power yet over my silverado i got rid of

I hope they are not that bad on this truck being I gave the truck to my daughter. These are the 2nd gen of that tire I dont know if they are different than gen 1 other than the sidewalls.

The 275-65-20 , 116 load rated is the same SL (4ply) rating that the 275-60-20 OE Good Years on a 1500.

EDIT . My mistake I think the OE tires have a 114 load rating so these nittos have a slightly higher load rating at 116 . how much difference that is who knows. The 10 ply Nittos were I think 126.

A 114 tire load index says the tire is rated for 2601lbs for the tire. A 116 load index rating shows the tire being able to carry 2756lbs for the tire. Nitto TG G2's have 116 load rating for the XL tire.

A 126 load index is rated for 3748lbs. per tire. My next tire my be a General HTS60 XL with a 119 load index 2998lbs. Higher load index rating and a decent tread with a 65k mile warranty. No where near as aggressive as the Nitto G2's, but $50 to $60 cheaper per tire.
