Was working on wiring my canopy today and noticed I didn't have brake lights unless the key is on. This was before i messed with any factory wiring so i don't think i did anything. I'm pretty sure it always had brake lights in the past regardless of the key being on. I noticed there are a few old threads about this same situation but no one followed up with a resolution. Brakes lights work fine with key on. Checked the fuses, everything is good. Only thing I can think is I pulled the dash a few weeks ago to do the heater core. I unhooked the brake switch at that time. I double checked it today and it seemed to be mounted correctly. I went ahead and ordered a new mopar switch for the hell of it. Wasn't too expensive.
Obviously the main thing is that they work while I'm driving which they do, but if something is wrong I'd like to fix it. Anyone have a suggestion? Am I crazy and it's fine? The only suggestion in the old threads was to replace the brake switch.
