OK, for what ever reason this is escaping me although I should know it. This is on my 2018 1500 Outdoorsman.

A few weeks ago, went to pull my boat and I wasn't getting any running lights on the trailer. Brake and turn signal were OK.

After some searching through the fuse box, I did finally seem to find one of the many trailer/tow related fuses was blown.

However, and I assume this is related, now when I go to lock my truck, I get no flashing lights. I can't say that I noticed when this started, but assume it is somehow related to my fuse problem. For whatever reason, I just can't remember if I am supposed to have brake lights flash, running lights flash, or both. At any rate, I am getting nothing. When I unlock, that seems OK.

At the same time, I have an aftermarket remote start - one of the press 3x to lock kind. It won't work now, and I assume these issues are related.

So, what lights should be flashing when I press lock on my fob, and in absence of those lights - what should I be looking for as the problem?

Brake and running lights should flash. I have a 3 times to lock remote start too which has recently began working on 2 locks (very annoying). You may be on to something with the remote start being the culprit or a symptom.

Understand this is a guess, as I don't know the options on your truck. Did you enable a "stealth mode"? Many vehicles let you disable light flashes, horn chirps, etc. in the infotainment settings.

If the lights otherwise work, I'd be surprised if it's a fuse issue.

well, went out and tried some troubleshooting. Went through the fuse box to see if there were any obvious culprits. I can't even find a fuse that suggests it controls locking functions. Pulled or otherwise checked continuity on most of the fuses and all seem good.

I did also check the trailer plug. Turn, brake, running (with light switch on), 12 v all seem to have power. Didn't check B/up or trailer brake.

As for stealth mode - I don't know. I have an aftermarket head unit, so if I turned something on, it would have had to have been some quirk of pressing random buttons. But, seems odd it would turn this off only when I lock and not unlock. I found a prsumed fix in another forum when there is no flash on lock or unlock, but I have them on unlock.

The other site is correct. The OEM 8.4 head unit has settings / soft switches on it's settings screens for horn / light chirps and such.

Yeah, so I kind of figured this out, at least part of the solution. But not clear on how it happened.

On another site, there was a fix for no lights when both locking or unlocking. And, I think I also found this listed in a Charger forum. At any rate, the fix is to press unlock for 4 seconds, then press lock and release together. (One site said to hold both buttons until lights flash, but this didn't work for me). So, I tried this and released both buttons immediately and this seemed to work.

But, my remote start is still in error mode. I suspect I will have to take that out, re-flash it and re-install.

So, who knows how it happened. Maybe random button pressing in my pocket, but at least it isn't something more serious.
