I hope this is the correct forum. I bought a 2022 Laramie, 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, Crew Cab. When doing my initial research, one of the features I wanted was on-board GPS/Nav. However, when I picked up my truck, I learned there was no GPS/Nav. I thought ALL Laramie trucks had it. Was I wrong or was GPS/Nav only included in certain equipment packages?

Last question/topic...can a GPS/Nav app be downloaded onto my truck? If so, where do I go to get it? Thanks!

GPS/Navigation, Real Time Traffic & other features come with a subscription to the Uconnect Service which is a provided on an annual fee basis. Once the free new truck first year subscription expires you can renew at a rate of $14.99/month or $164.89/year.

Alternatives to that paid package is Android Auto or Apple CarPlay which are on your head unit and can be added to your phone - obviously an Android or an iPhone - for no charge.

If you go that route you won't have the other Uconnect options such as an AT&T wi-fi hotspot, remote vehicle management, vehicle health reports and other services.

I didn't renew any Uconnect packages on any of my last 3 Ram trucks. I just used the Android Auto app on my phone, connected the phone to the head unit wirelessly and got the navigation services I needed.

Thanks, Maddog! I appreciate the info. I'm not an Apple/iPhone kind of guy, so I think going with the Android Auto option is for me. I was hoping for a solution to get rid of the Garmin GPS stuck to my windshield. (Pic attached) The Garmin has been VERY reliable over the years with its annual map updates. However, I already have a small traffic cam just behind the rear-view mirror...hoping to reclaim some visibility without the Garmin. Yeah, I know, if I were to take the stuff off the rear-view mirror, I'd reclaim even MORE visibility... (I'll keep the GPS as my wife's 2013 Nissan Altima didn't come with a nav system). Thanks again!

I didn't much care about the navigation until we got a Forester with android auto. I prefer it over every integrated mapping I've used.

I put my Android phone in a holder high on the windshield, and use it to navigate with Google Maps. I think it's better because it's more heads up, and you're not looking down at the dash. The only issue is that you have to turn off Bluetooth in order to hear the directions, which means it won't communicate with the heads up phone system in the truck.

I've looked at putting an Android auto radio in my truck, but then I would lose Sirius, and I occasionally go places with no cell reception, so wouldn't be able to stream it.
