I have a brand spankin new 2011 Ram 1500 with about 800 miles on it.
I have been parking it in the garage at night, usually backing in to park.
It has tinted rear windows, and at first I thought that was why I was having so much trouble looking in the mirrors backing into the garage.
The problem is, the damn back up lights aren't working. You've got to be kidding me. $38,500 must not have included reverse lights?
Anyway, I work a ton of hours, my salesman quit 2 days after I bought the truck, and the dealership is about 25 miles away. I haven't had a chance to get to the dealer, and I'm not in a position to leave my truck, or be stuck there for hours while they fart around with it.
Anybody else have this problem, or know the fix?
I don't have alot of faith in this dealership. I had to show them that the factory trailer brake control could be put in a truck that didn't come with one, I had to show them the plugs under the dash for the control, I had to go online and find the MOPAR part# for the control so they could order it.
I had to show them how the trailer tow mirrors "flip up and out" after I saw a picture on my MOPAR credit card.
Like I said, I'm not real comfortable dropping my truck off to these guys and having them fart around with my wiring.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Tom
I'm a long time Dodge truck owner, I had an 88 shortbed 4x4 with a 318 that was the best vehicle I've ever owned. 200k miles on the original drivetrain with only a timing chain, electric fuel pump replaced along with normal wear items.
I'm hoping this $38k 2011 will be as good as the 88, but we're not off to a good start.
