Ive been noticing that my truck seems like it has a miss. Its very noticable at idle, but can be felt throughout the rpm range. The truck has brand new plugs, distributor cap, and rotor. The coil is original from the factory, the plug wires look to be cheap 7.5mm wires that seem pretty new. I have been running 93 octane gas in it since ive owned it. What could cause this?

Comp test first, if you get good numbers then fix the plenum, then replace the cat and both 02 sensors.

2 weeks ago i had a compression check done along with a full diagnostic test. To find that the engine is very healthy. The plenum gasket is good. It appears to have the aluminum plate already. The only thing the mechanic told me was that there was alot of carbon build up. He suggested i run 93 octane fuel and sea foam the motor.

Im sure that its not the cat. It revs up fine, infact i installed a superchips tuner and changed my rev limiter and it has no problem redlineing. I got rid of my check engine light by changing a evap hose that is located under the rear passenger side of the truck. So, no there are no codes currently.

Changing o2 sensors will help this? They could be bad but not throw any codes? Intresting...

I ordered msd 8.5mm plug wires today.im also looking into a new coil. What do y'all run for coils? I'm going to do something about the catalytic converter too. Can I just straight pipe it? I really don't want the cel on because of it though.

MSD seems to be one of the best ways to go for ignition. Don't straight pipe unless you want to lose your low end torque. Look into high flow cat, cat delete or bypass (several ways, I have a buddy who did this on his Subi with some creative welding and an electronic cutout) and get a high flow muffler if you really want to ditch the cat. Our you could turbo and run a straight pipe. All the back pressure you need:roflsquared:

Msd coil, but you will need a wiring adapter from Accel for your year truck.
