I always knew the sheet metal on these trucks was thin but this is amazing.

Went for a bike ride this morning. as I closed my rear door, the shoulder strap from my camelback got shut into the door not even the full strap, just the edge. it actually bent the body around the door. Just surprised HOW thin the metal really is.

You think that is thin, my son-inlaw has a 2017 Ford F150 aluminum body, he said the bed sidewall bends when the gas pump nozzle is in & I've seen reports of F150 antennas with the aluminum body ripping the fender when going through car washes.

Was there a buckle on the camelback strap that was caught in the door where it bent? Bunched up cloth shoulder strap wouldn't dent the metal as it did.

Every single vehicle manufacturer is reducing weight every way possible to meet CAFE mpg requirements. Same reason 0-20 and 5-20 oil is the spec now. The thin oil is definitely not for enhanced engine protection.

I assure you, it was all fabric. edge of the padded part that goes over the shoulder. that's why I was surprised. if I caught the buckle, I would have just said, "@#$%" and been done.
