I'm trying to find the OBD port on my 2023 2500. Looked in the manual and it just gives me warnings not to connect to it but nothing on location. Cannot find it in the normal bottom left of the dash location. Reason is to cancel a check engine light that came on. Someone attempted or maybe was successful in stealing gas and left the cap off. I did not notice it until after the light came on. Have started the truck 3 times and no auto reset. Also have a locking cap ordered. Help locating and advice on whether to cancel the code appreciated.

On my 2013 it (OB D port) sets up a little on the left of the steering wheel under dash.

That's where I am used to seeing. I may have found it. My electric running boards appear to be plugged into the same shape receptacle. I will try that later today when the blazing sun has dropped below the horizon. Also still concerned about the manual warning but if all I'm doing is reading code I can't imagine that is an issue. 99 9/10 sure it was a code for the gas cap. it might reset after a certain number of starts. If not I can do that with my reader once I'm certain that is the reason. Parking inside the shop for. couple days until I get the locking gas cap.

My area has been very secure but with all the changes in America and more and more A-holes moving in I suppose it's time for the security cameras and lock everything. Price of fuel in CA is not helping either. Had a 1/4 tank and took $125 to fill it. 23+ gallons. And the price has come down some for 87 octane. Woo Hoo.

I’m surprised they could siphon any gas out, cause I thought there was an anti spill valve in the fill line in case you flip over? That’s why they just drill a hole in the plastic tank and put a jug under there to catch the gas spilling out?

It’s a rollover valve and it’s located on the top of the tank where it meets the filler tube. Not in the filler line.

That is the location where the electric running boards plug was inserted. I removed that plug and the boards retracted. Will plug in my reader tomorrow and thank you for confirming.

As for the gas thief...I don't know that he got anything. If so it was not much. But if it's possible to siphon fuel he might have been taking some out ever since the fuel prices went up. Just this time he forgot to replace the cap. It's full now so I parked it in my shop until I get the locking cap.

The sales manager at the dealership gave me a locking gas cap the day I picked up my truck.

And I wouldn't go anywhere without one.

And yes, I know that most gas thieves will punch a hole in the tank, but I feel better knowing that nobody can siphon my tank.

Maybe that is why my gas cap was left dangling. Frustrated because he could not get any fuel out. There have been gas thieves since we have had automobiles. But it's not 25c a gallon anymore. Especially in CA.
