Has anyone installed the:

Model(s): Ram 1500
Model Year(s): 2012 - 2018
Part Number(s): 82213794

on their 2017 truck? Do you have to remove the rubber from the front of the hood. When done does it fit properly and does it fasten tightly to the underside of the hood? Any other info you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have the chrome OEM deflector and no the rubber didn't need to be removed. The instruction did require the ends of the rubber strip be trimmed but not remove the entire strip. Will get pictures if you want.

Thanks. I wasn't aware that MOPAR had a chrome version of the shield. So it's just held in place by one bracket on each side? Drilled and screwed? Do you know if the smoked version is mounted the same way?

The OEM deflector uses holes already in the hood. Kit comes with bolts and retainer clips. I assume the smoked and chrome install the same.

Could you give me a brief description as to how it's mounted? (I recently bought another brand and it was a POS when it came to mounting so I don't want to end up with the same) Thanks.

The deflector is all once piece. It uses 4 mounting points, two of which you can see in pics 1 and 2. There are 4 holes already in the hood and the deflector came with plastic retainers to put into those holes. Then you line up the deflector and screw it down to the retainers using the bolts in the kit.

Only thing to trim is the rubber piece. That's about it.

seen a OEM Mopar one in chrome for 144.00 is that a good normal price I think that's a lot for a item like this. Like the look of it on the truck, also had one on a used truck but it came with it that's why I like it. Dont know if it really does anything like keep the windshield clean when driving.
