I couldn't find by searching anything on installing the oem gooseneck prep package - if anyone knows of a video etc please let me know.
I purchased the OEM prep package and it will be here in a few days. I was ready the directions and it clearly states that the center where the cartridge is to be installed you have to drill out a 4 inch hole and the stanchions are going to be 3 3/4 inch holes in the bed - then I will need to lift the bed 6 inches to complete the install of the brackets.
My issue is this - under my truck 2018 there is already a hole in the frame where the center bracket will be installed but this hole is only a 3 inch hole. I called the dealer and they verified that I did order the correct part according to my vin. He told me that i will need to widen the frame hole that is currently there. I am thinking the guy at the dealership is wrong and that the 4 inch hole is only in the bed of the truck and not on the frame?
Anyone ever install an OEM, there are a few reasons I went with OEM over b&w etc. Once reason is because I will be installing the upper brackets and will use the ram rail system. I pull a horse trailer and then will also have a 5th wheel soon too. Have already thought about the 5th wheel adaptor on the 5th wheel to gooseneck.
Thanks all
