OEM Remote Start.

Am I right in understanding that an OEM remote start can be installed on any new Ram at the dealer? I am looking at a 2019 1500 Classic QC 4x4 Tradesman.

I'm pretty sure it's just a code to enable the feature

I have an aftermarket alarm with remote start than only use the canbus to start the truck. The 3 lock on the factory key also start tye truck.

Maybe possible to enable with AlfaOBD?

I found a new factory remote start kit online for $ 264 with the 2 new fobs thought about buying the kit. Is there any way I could program those fobs to start my truck without going to the dealer?

Unless it's changed since 2015(which I doubt) you need to add a module behind the left rear seat(and a couple other pieces-hood switch etc.) and then you have to have it married up to the BCM.Wiring is there but not all the pieces.

2018+ 4th gen kits have just 2 fobs and a hood latch. Then just wire the hood switch to the BCM, program the sales codes and new keys.

2018 and older to about 2013 required the keys,hood latch, and RF hub/antenna.
