Why is it every new truck, regardless of brand truck, comes with a set of tires that wear faster than an aftermarket purchased tire? I have bought 3 trucks new in the last 10 years and every time the stock All Season's last about 25kish miles. Aftermarket tires seem to come with 50k warranties, suggesting the longevity is double. For anyone asking, I run 90% on road, with some light off road (trail driving, construction sites, etc). I rotate my tires regularly and get pretty even wear across all 4 as a result.
Just a wierd thing I have noticed.

On that note though, I have run Nitto Ridge Grapplers previously, had great mileage but a little more road noise than I would like. I have seen good reviews of the BFGoodrich Ko2/Ko3's. I looked at the Ko2 but got a warning that the load rating was too low. KO3 didn't have that problem.

What tires have yall used and liked?

All of my Ram HD trucks came with the Transforce tires. Terrible tires, wore out very quickly, crappy wet performance, I didn't dare to take them out in the mud and on the last 3 Rams I didn't wait to wear them out before I replaced them.

I'm using Toyo ATIII tires on my current Ram. I like them as they are a hybrid design, work well in sand, rock and on wet pavement plus they meet my load rating needs. They are quiet compared to the Ridge Grapplers which I had on my 4th Gen 2500.

I got 20,000 miles out of the original firestones. Put a used set of cooper stt pros on it and got 27,000 miles out of them. I farm and have to get feed and livestock into muddy areas at times so need a more aggressive tire. The coopers were great in the mud. When I replaced them I got a good deal on a set of goodyear boulder m/t tires. I have less than a 1,000 miles on them so far but I like them. They are very quiet for an mt. They have done well in the mud also. Will see how long they last. I know an mt won't last as long as an ht or at tire but that's what I need in my situation. It's not just the oem truck tires that wear out fast. My wife's subaru forester only got 25,000 miles on the oem tires. We put a set of falken a/t trails on it and they have 78,000 miles on them and will need replaced by the next service.94.jpg

I am in the same predicament with tires. We tow quite often, and the Coopers have done better than the Firestone but rock roads are tearing up the tread. At home we run rock roads but may travel 2000 miles to our next work location. Once at that location we occasionally have to travel rock our fire roads for the job. We need a tire that will do hwys, some lighter off-road, be tough, and wear well. So many choices out there. Ugh
