2015 1500 4x4 Quad cab ,
A street queen no off road driving unless the icy roads puts me in the woods :O
73k on the clock, So time to plan on new shocks,
Just did breaks and E brake in a couple weeks,
Bilstein 5100 seem to be the favorite but I have no plans on lifting .
I assume the 4600 have a smooth soft ride ?
Yes I want a smooth ride and not have my junk hit me in the head on bumps lol

What brands do you use for a smooth ride ? Brands etc ! Pros and Cons
I want a GOOD brand not cheap crap I only want to pay once lol

Thanks

Not sure Bilsteins are what you'll be happy with, some people describe them as being able to drive over a coin and know if its heads or tails...lol
I've been leaning towards Fox 2.0 when it come time to replace mine. Going with Thuren would be nice but pricey.
Whichever shocks you go with, be sure to order this: https://www.thurenfabrication.com/09-18-1500-shock-nut-set.html

Bilstein almost always does what's called digressive valving, so you feel low speed bumps but they feel smooth on high speed bumps. Pretty sure the idea is to set into corners as soon as you turn the steering wheel for a sportier feel.

You can run the 5100s at stock height.

My experience on a different platform was that 5100s were a little softer than 4600s for the same vehicle but I don't know if that relationship is the same on their shocks for 1500s

Yep. If you want to keep the truck factory you can buy new assemblies from KYB as QL struts. Simple install and people swear KYB feels better than stock if you looking for stock replacements for a queen pavement.

I installed KYB Excel G at all 4 corners of my 2017 2wd crew cab, and can attest to them feeling far better than OEM. I believe I paid around $160-170 for all 4 on Amazon. They are smooth but not mushy. It was a night and day difference. Changed them at around 75k on the odo.

First THANK YOU ALL for replying ! These are the answers I am looking for.
I forgot about KYB shocks so may give those a shot !
I thought i remembered reading the Bilsteins were a little stiff , thanks for confirming it !
As for price I only want to buy once lol so a few extra $$$ would not be a big issue even if I have to wait a bit longer before i picked them up.
I like the idea of the pre assembled struts ! Did that with the Monroe's I had put on the car !
The Struts/Shocks would be done by a mechanic friend when he does my E brakes !
At 67 ,no garage gravel driveway 20*f and no lift ,I now pay someone to do my work lol
RAM1500 thanks for the link

Again THANK YOU for you advice !

In my previous platform experience, 4600 and 5100 Bilsteins were valved the same but simply had more height options.

The 4600's for this platform have stock and 'Rebel' stock height options which is what I plan to do at some point.
