7 months in to my newest Ram, I've been hanging on here to square away the mods I want. So far, some of you guys have opened my eyes to catch cans. In hindsight, after owning another Ram with a hemi for over 10 years, I started thinking back to issues that were likely caused by a lack of a catch can.

Anyways, what brands are you guys running? Are the $60 inexpensive generic ones on ebay good enough, or is it wiser to go with what appears to be name brand ones around $100+?

Also, just out of curiousity, I saw the oil catch can dump thread and noticed some guys are dumping out what appears to be stuff the same color as reasonably clean oil, and others some milky stuff that looks like coffee with too much cream in it. What are the causes of these differences? Must be satisfying to dump them!

The cheap CC ate not a simple bolt on mine required me to get better hose and find a good place to mount it.
The more costly ones are more of a simple straight bolt on.
Just depends if you want to do some work and save some money or dont want to mess with it and want a straightforward set up.

The milky CC dumps are normally duing the winter when there is more moisture in the motor.

What he said ^^^^^^^^^

If you read the OCC dump thread from the beginning you'll learn what he said above .

It's a pretty informative thread and near [emoji817]% about occ's , unlike most OCC threads [emoji106]

Thanks guys. Yeah I had thumbed through that OCC thread. I also watched a video from BoostedMotorsports where he installed the generic ebay one and I immediately was questioning the hoses it came with, they looked like the kind of stuff we used to make beer bongs out of, then in a later video he complained about them and indicated he replaced them with nice black hoses. I don't want to fuss around with changing them out, I'd rather spend a few bucks more and not monkey around with replacement hoses...

Go with Billet Technology. It’s more expensive and the sweet finishes are even more + the wait, but it’s definitely worth it and their customer service is awesome! They have pretty decent sales during the big holidays.

Burnt Orange I purchased over the July 4th holiday:

How long does it take for them to deliver one?

I was thinking of this one, it looks like it comes with nice hoses that would not need to be replaced.

Very nice! I’m trying to talk my wife into a Challenger but she’s a Mustang fan.

It varies, my order was delivered in just under a month.

There's a $61 catch can like one posted above on eBay, I bought one today. I have a generic one that works great, but I like the mounting bracket and drain on bottom, so decided to buy the $61 one. I have seen reviews and people say they are great quality. It's a simple design. I can see paying much more, could always paint yourself if you don't like the silver or black most low cost ones come in.

I bought my bt from Moe's and the only delay was because of the hurricane at the time, pretty much all transportation was shut down for a couple of days, but even at that it was here in no time. Mine is just the basic bt, you can get colors or different options which might take a little longer.

anybody recommend exactly what kind of hose to buy to replace what came with my catch can?
I saw on one of the videos that some of cheaper models come with hose that collapses under vacuum.

Please,

Also, is there any need to use teflon tape on the elbows and where the drain valve screws into the bottom?

Go to your local auto parts store and get a hose the is fuel line or oil line safe, it will be thicker plus stand up to the oil/fuel.
