Oil change on new cummins

Looking at trading my 2017 Ram 3/4 ton with 6.4 with a 2021 1 ton with Cummins. I usually change my oil at 5000 miles. What are the change intervals with Cummins? Trying to look at all aspects upgrading. Thanks.

The owners manual recommendations are your best bet. In my case 15,000 miles is about once a year. Although last year I changed mine at about 11,000miles before towing our TT on vacation for the first time.
But it's always better to change your oil too often than not often enough.

Also to add if ya get a bypass system, and your analysis says it’s good, you might be able to extend that oil change. Remember, oil only gets dirty, doesn’t wear out.

If you're running biodiesel, be sure you read up on fuel exceptions to oil change intervals. Cummins used to cut oil change intervals in half for B10. I worked for them for 22 years, but haven't kept up. Retired 2016.

15K miles and not a mile sooner. And be sure you use what the manual recommends which should be 10w-30 or 5w-40 for colder climates on your 21 (verify that going by memory here)

Been doing 15k changes since day one on mine and oil analysis has shown it has been good to go.

On my 2018 diesel I changed mine every 7500 miles until I got to 45K, now switching to 15K intervals.

My truck only has about 7,500 miles on the oil since my oil change last summer for first trailer tow vacation. 15k mile OCI for me from now on.
