Another synthetic or regular oil thread???

Here's what my daddy told me many years ago -- "Buy the very best oil....that you can afford".

Good luck.

Oh, for the record, and I use Amsoil and Royal Purple oil filters in all our vehicles [I switched to Royal Purple recently after using Wixx, Mobil 1 and K&N for many years].

Stop! Hemi time!
<- Mobil 1 Synth + Napa Gold (Wix) filter every 5000ish miles here.

Changing synthetic under 5000 is silly. Especially when Dodge says 8000 between changes under normal conditions. If you go synthetic, the price is higher, but it also lasts longer.

if you are going to continue to change it on your own, why not go synthetic, then you can go longer between changes

Schaeffer. Don't knock it till you try it. $6/qt for full synthetic. Lasts 15k miles or longer. Better lab results than Amsoil, Mobil 1, and Royal Purple. They even provide you with a container to send in a sample of your old oil to get tested for free.

i'm using Amsoil. very pleased with it. I've barely done 2 oil changes on my truck. I have 30K miles on it. saves time and money.
