I just went to discount tires to get my tires balanced and rotated and offered me an oil change for $25. So I got it done, but I just got home and saw they put Valvoline premium 5w-30 and I always put 5-20. Will it be ok to leave the 5-30 in?

And pretty sure thats premium convential motor oil, so I dunno if you run a synthetic blend or full synthetic or not but I'm sure thats what they put in.

you may have issues with the MDS. MDS is very sensitive to oil viscosity.

but it wont mess up the engine?

From everything I have read, you only want to run 5-20 in MDS motors (06+ Hemi's in Ram 1500s) or you can/will have problems.

I would take it back to the place that changed the oil and have them put the correct oil in.

If its an 06 it has it unless you've done some engine work.

I think you do have it and just dont notice it. Maybe the previous owner disabled it and never turned it back on. But I use to have a 06 Hemi and they all had it.

Ya can do it in your driveway bud and save some money, the dealership is gonna be expensive. All you need is a filter wrench for the filter and should be a 13mm wrench for the drain plug, oil pan to catch the old oil, 7.5 quarts of your oil of choice along with a new filter.
