Amsoil is no longer made by champ, they are now wix clones but the situation is in flux. Wix no longer makes spun glass filters, whatever Amsoil ends up as we need to wait and see.
Tune into blackstone thread, the 10-48 is a clone to EA15K50, fellas this is from amsoil the horses mouth...
AMSOIL EA15K50 Oil Filter Temporarily Not Recommended for Select Ram and GM Applications
We are no longer recommending the AMSOIL EA15K50 Oil Filter for 2007-2013 GM vehicles with the 5.3L engine and 2013-current Ram vehicles with the 5.7L or 6.4L engines. There is no cause for alarm if you or one of your customers is using the EA15K50 Filter with one of the listed vehicles; we are acting out of an abundance of caution. We have sold thousands of AMSOIL EA15K50 Oil Filters to customers with one of the GM or Ram engines listed above. A very small percentage of those customers have reported gauges or check-engine lights indicating slightly lower than normal oil pressure.
mind you this is the best small filter made for the hemi as far as lose thick media and flow, and they still throw codes.
The obvious truth is Rams didn't do any work on specing the smaller filters, my long held opinion they spec'd it to solve a problem with the new steering hardware. The fact is the smaller filters has caused issues, you think Amsoil would pull it's recommendation ***** nilly? It was a bch slap in the face when manu's hung these freak'n tiny filters on v8's throwing oil. Mind you there is no tsb's on the larger filters in early 4 gens, only when they put those tiny filters on. If you don't like the clearance, toss a couple dollars at a dual filter set up and make your life easier and the oil flow better. @Wild one break us off a pic.
Use the small filter at your own risk, you been warned.
