Anyone know of any special tools or techniques to make changing the oil filter on a 2022 ram 1500 5.7l less aggravating? Mopar Online recommended the #4884899AC which turns out to be a little bigger than the #4882339AB which was on the engine from the factory. The filter is located above the power steering unit with just enough space to get the filter off and on, hand tight. I bought a cap oil filter wrench from napa part no. 776-9008 to fit the mopar #4884899AC after threading the filter, I could not get the cap oil filter wrench on to the bottom of the filter, there is just not enough space to clear the power steering unit. I settled on leaving the filter as hand tight as I could get it. Not sure if that is tight enough as I am no longer as strong as I used to be before arthiritis and old age. I considered cutting off some of the depth/height of the cap oil filter wrench to get it onto the filter so I could tighten it a little more. I was always told hand tight then 1/2 turn more. Any and all help will be appreciated.

wrap an old belt around the filter to remove AND tighten it, if you can do that.

Put a plate of nachos under the truck and tell the oil filter, these nachos are for you. Works on me even on my stubborn days.

I installed an oil filter relocation kit. It was a bit of a pain to do but should payout on the next oil change. See Post here
