Has anybody experienced this? I’m dealing with an oil leak on my 2012 ram 1500 express 2wd 65rfe and I don’t know where it’s coming from. I never touched the block or transmission but it looks like a rear main seal leak. Online it says the oil filter adapter housing or gaskets could be the culprit but I’m not sure. I can see it leaks from the passenger side and pools up and drips off the bell housing. Anybody know anything about this?

Update: it’s not the rear main seal, I just took off the intake manifold and there are puddles of oil, thinking it’s either oil pressure sensor or my MDs delete plugs.

only thing on top would be your delete plugs or vvt solenoid seal and or valve cover gaskets. The oil pressure sensor is down by the oil filter.

I did the install on a cam swap (moes performance hpt210) ati damper and rebuilt top end about 500 miles ago and I’ve been chasing this oil leak ever since, after taking off mds block off plugs I’m replacing the crushed o rings with viton hi temp o rings and being sure to lubricate them well before install. 99% sure crushed o rings were my oil leak issue, pulled all of them off and 3 had hard and cracked gaskets. IF YOUVE DONE MDS DELETE AND USED MDS BLOCK OFF PLUGS- be sure to install them properly. It took me 2 weeks to find this leak until it started pouring out so much oil I couldn’t safely drive the truck anymore. The part that sucks is I’m not sure how you’d know it’s the mds block off plugs until it starts pouring out from the top of the engine, but intake manifold can be taken off by yourself at home pretty easily if you’re experiencing the same symptoms (oil pouring out from the rear of the block, pooling on the bellhousing and you have the 2009-2012 oil filter housing-on the passenger side of the block not the rear of the engine like in newer rams 2013-2023) my bet is on these mds plugs being the culprit. Hope that helps
