I just had my oil changed and was told I have an oil leak and they told me it was the oil pan gasket.I have a united care care warranty but I was just wondering if it's a major fix or not.Oh and it's a 2015 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi.Thanks.

Seems unusual. If your gasket is leaking, you should see some oil on the ground. I did last year, and it was just a loose oil filter (which can happen on our trucks, and Jeep Grands, according to my Viper tech).

Probably not a tough job. A buddy and I changed the pan gasket on my 2003 Viper, and while not difficult, it is a two-man job. Probably the same on the Rams. Keep us posted.

Not all leaks are going to leave drips on the ground. Could just be traveling down the pan rail.

If it’s a 4x4, front diff has to come out to get the pan out.

Don’t the hemis have a windage tray built into the gasket? If that’s the case you also need to be able to remove oil pick up tube to get the tray off. Not sure how much clearance you have dropping the oil pan down all the way. Just a thought

They sure do. To get it out, the front diff, crossmember, rear oil pan structural cover and pick up tube all have to come off.

I had a slight drip a few months ago and and as It turned out the oil filter was loose.I tightened up and the drip stopped. I haven't noticed anything on the ground lately I'm just going by what they told me when I got the oil changed.
