Sorry, search feature not coming up. Any of you guys now the size of the oil drain plug?

Owners Manuel conveniently left that out. Probably to promote dealer service. Anywho, 2014 ram 1500 5.7. Thanks. On my way to auto zone now.

No, getting back into the habit of doing my own fluids. Dealership has been doing them since I bought the truck new. However, I relocated.

Bought a 6 point socket set. $19 bucks. :)

Thanks for the quick reply! I tried Google but Google is a bit tricky. I used a 1/2 wrench (prior to your reply) and it fit great. However, the damn bolt was on tight as ****. I used a small pipe to get a bit of leverage. Gradually increasing the torque. I felt the bolt break loose. Turns out, the bolt only started to strip. Sucks.

I bought a “6 point” socket kit. The 13mm fit snug. The bolt came right off with some effort. Word of advice to anyone who stumbles across this:

Use a 6 point socket or wrench. The added surface area contact is needed to remove a stubborn bolt. 13mm or 1/2” will work great. Just use a 6 point.

This makes me wonder if my 2009 Hemi is also 13mm?

Try it out :). Mine fit good. The dealership had been doing my oil charges. They put that damn bolt on so tight! I will buy a new one with a little magnet on the end because my current got a little damaged from the 12 point socket. Weird.
